Critic #2: Savanna

The second silhouette closely matches the text model' color and font type more than the first version.

I added a text box for titles. For text color white and background color dark blue to match my text model.

I like the second version of the cutout. Add titles to be more descriptive.

I added a title for the parties involved to be more descriptive.

Critic #1: Sonia

Use the silhouettes to stay consistent with the visual model.

Add more features and shade of color to differentiate the parties who are involved. The font for the titles should be capitalized to match your typography model.

I changed the image to silhouette again and added some details such as colors and shapes to differentiate between the victims and the perpetrators. Color-coded them to coordinate with the text description.

Critic #2: Muatasim

Change the shades of the silhouettes to stay consistent with your visual model. Add maps, routes to give more details and create an understanding of the content.

Used silhouettes as suggested. Maps and other features will be added in the future.

He noticed the silhouettes were not intuitively descriptive due to the color's contrasts and definitions but he understood there are two people involved. He noticed the first iteration of the silhouettes is more clear and understandable than the second. In addition, the text was all bold and has a black color which needs to change and match the text model.

I added a picture as suggested and changed the font

weight.

Critic #3: Laura

Align the title and description text to the left and capitalize the fonts to match the typography model.

Fixed the font weight, size, alignment to match my typography model as suggested.

Critique 1 Message & Emulation

This silhouette represents two people one is a migrant who was captured by ISIS a terrorist organization that operates in middle-east and northern Africa and the other is a migrant from East Africa.

How this element exploits the visual potential of appearance: This graphic cutout represents the condition of migrants from sub-Saharan African countries go through.

How this element emulates the models:

To emulate my color model I used similar colors such as dark blue and black.

To emulate my visual language model It used the text to tell a story behind the silhouette.

To emulate my typography model I used same font type.

Appearance Elements & Critiques

Final Display Message & Emulation

This silhouette represents an immigrant being detained by ISIS in Libya. This image as struck the world by surprise because it is a video of migrants being beheaded by the terrorist organization. Sadly, this is the living condition of many sub-Saharan African migrants crossing the Saharan desert to board a boat to get to Europe.

To emulate my color model I used light blue to represent the migrant and the dark burgundy the terrorist/human traffickers.

To emulate my visual language model I created a silhouette.

To emulate my typography model I used Acumin Condensed font type for the titles and thin Acumin for the paragraph.
